So, as many of you know, I'm playing an online game called Perfect World International. The reason I'm writing about this is because I felt inspired to write... ANNND because they're doing weekly maintenance so all servers are down and there's absolutely no way to play for about an hour. Lol.
So the reason I was inspired to write... was because I was thinking about all of the crazy people out there who willingly give up their life (basically) to these online MMORPG games. I understand if you're on there for hours and hours a day, because, honestly I do the same. But I've heard some crazy things, for example, people that have been online and have not slept, bathed, rarely eaten, or had communication with the outside world for a full 3+ days.
In a way, I guess I consider these weekly maintenance things a small break for these guys, so they can finally A. Acquire some sleep, even if it's only for one hour and then the obsession begins again, , B.Bathe, and C. Catch up with their loved ones.
It's funny though, how something so trivial as a game can end up to be so life-threatening. This brings me to another topic, something I've heard quite a few times before, and it oddly makes sense. I've been told that the only reason the Japanese keep giving us video games, anime, etc. is to intentionally rot our minds while they train their children for war. Not to mention they already have robots (I'll explain more about that later...) while we're here falling prey to their trap. Not that I mind though, be it true or not, I like playing video games, and that's become a part of who I am. :) It's a hobby.

xD Real gamers play another MMO while there is maintenance (no kidding), as for me and Venn, we just play Uno or Rock/Paper/Scissors xD (ohhh and dominos too o.o!).
ReplyDeleteBut no kidding, lot of my online friends are hooked up to another MMO as soon as maintenance is up x3.
But yah x3 sometimes slacking on RL is not that terrible... though truly, there is a need for normal stuff. Like shower and food >.>! (I tend to forget I'm hungry -.- not good)
